To Become Like Water - Tai Chi and the Life of a Violinist

I arrived early for the first class and my new teacher took me outside and we sat down under a tree. He started telling me about chi, intrinsic energy as he called it, and explained that Chi was the life force which existed in every grass blade, in the trees around us, in the air we breathed, in our bodies, etc. Tai Chi is a form of exercise that strengthens our ability to connect and which utilizes this energy to enhance our physical, mental end spir­itual well-being. Chi is also the vital element on which the ancient traditional Chinese medicine practice is based. The meridian systems in acupuncture therapy, reflexology and kinesiology are all based on this system of energy-flow through our bodies
